Summary: Try something else... this just won't work.
Comment: As a student at Bowling Green State University, I happen to know that the contributors to this book are no longer pleased with it and have whithdrawn it from use in the English department. So before I say anything about the book, just keep in mind that when the authors themselves don't use the book in their classes, something is wrong. Generally, the book is simply very poorly constructed and not east to use. There are a number of similar books out there that are much better. (Too many to name here, but I will mention one: Writing and Reading Across the Curriculum).
