Title: Probability models and applications by Ingram Olkin ISBN: 0-02-389230-7 Publisher: Macmillan Pub. Date: 1980 Format: Unknown Binding |
Average Customer Rating: 3.5 (2 reviews)
Rating: 4
Summary: Excellent - but not for the faint of heart
Comment: I used this text when I was getting my degree in Operations Research at Naval Postgraduate School. While it is a first year book, it is very heavy reading. Out of all of the probability books I've seen - this one has the most real-life illustrations of how probablity models are used.
Rating: 3
Summary: Very benficial text.
Comment: I read the book for and independent study and I liked the book very much. The exercises emphasis the material. It presents probability in a simple and easy way to understand. The only problem I have with this text is the typos. There are a lot of typos. Most of them can be detected but some of them are hard to detect.
