Summary: Incoherent textbook full of errors and typos
Comment: I take Chemistry at Columbia University taught by the author, Leonard Fine. We are required to purchase this book, though it is of absolutely no help. The writing is incomprehensible, even for Ivy League students who read Homer like it was the Sunday comics. What's worse is that the book is full of errors and typos. One would assume that Professor Fine, being tenured at such an elite university, would be able to get basic college chemistry straight. However, there is the need to continually second-guess the text, making it worthless. Be especially careful with chapter five, which is a minefield of errors, typos, and misprints. That is, of course, if you've already made the mistake of buying the book. In short, avoid purchasing Fine's book if at all possible.
