Summary: Alvin's Disguises
Comment: Hmm....just read Alvin Fernald, Master of a Thousand Disguises. Interestingly enough, this book is Alvin's Secret Code with Codes being replaced by Disguises. Alvin et al help a lady recover family heirlooms[Treasure](same premise in both books). Bad guys try to get clue to whereabouts of the treasure(same in both). Bad guys foiled by Alvin and friends(same). Treasure is found near river(same). It was just too many similarities to be a coincidence. Alvin's Secret Code is one of my favorite children's books of all time. I did enjoy the book, but I felt a little cheated that I had the same storey just freshed up a bit by using disguises instead of codes. If you haven't read Alvin's Secret Code, ignore all of this and you will really enjoy the book. If you have, be prepared to read things you have before.
