Rating: 4
Summary: Funny and touching
Comment: I bought this book because I'd just read something much heavier, and I wanted a light read. I pretty much got what I wanted, until half way through, when I realised that this book had more guts than other 'chick flicks'. Marian Keyes' description of the effect of illness on friends was delicately written and well-researched. The characters are believable, for the most part, and the story is gripping. Highly recommended for a fairly easy read.

Summary: The Rollercoaster of Life
Comment: Well, this book started out wonderfully for me. Marian Keyes was flowing like a river. She was tasteful and each character had so much character. The love between these friends (14 years and running) was insatiable. Three women and one man (and his significant other). All was going well, with the ups and downs of life. Each was there for the other and then we were sent a "blow". One of the main characters took gravely ill. This sent me for a loop. I thought this book was supposed to be humor-filled. I cried and even had an anxiety attack during the pre, during and post diagnosis.

All-in-all, she is an excellent writer. It was enjoyable and I hated to put it down. However, before reading her others books, I need to find out if she goes into detail regarding illness or the like...........it was just too devastating living through this.....

Summary: An universal truth of how women behave
Comment: I read this book in about three days, and laugh and cry alone (this is not very common, specially with a book)and I could see myself doing the same things, telling me the same lies and I wish, in the future, making the same moves. It is so real, that you have to admit it and laugh... a lot and at loud.
Read it if you feel like nobody can understand the situation you are living as a single women. We are plenty in this world, believe me.
