Summary: Haven't You Learned Yet?
Comment: TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING by Kimberla Lawson Roby is the much-anticipated sequel to CASTING THE FIRST STONE.

Curtis Black is back with a vengeance. This time he has a brand new wife, Mariah and a new church. Things appear to be perfect, until lust causes Curtis to do some crazy things.

Curtis is so busy trying to sneak behind his wife's back; he neglects his daughter, Alicia. Alicia is vulnerable and sensitive. Will Curtis lose his daughter over his own selfishness?

Mariah thought she had the picture-perfect marriage. Not only is her husband handsome, he's also the head pastor at a growing church. Once her rose colored glasses are taken off, she feels stuck in a loveless marriage. Will Mariah leave Curtis or stay in the marriage out of obligation?

The story is comical in parts as Curtis tries to manipulate the women from his past and present. It's a brand new day, but he's still up to his old tricks: lying and sleeping around on his wife and girlfriend. He goes as far as trying to manipulate the deacons of the church. Will the deceit ever end?

Ms. Roby touches on a taboo subject that will sure get tongues to wagging. TOO MUCH OF A GOOD THING is entertaining to the very last page.

Summary: A Price to Pay for the Choices You Make
Comment: I could say that kimberla Lawson Roby is a storyteller at the top of her game but her readers already know that.

"Too Much of a Good Thing" like all of Kimberla's books, deals with serious real life issues. Kimberla shows the desperate plight of women who will do anything to get (as they think) or stay with a man regardless of the consequences. She points out the fact that a womanizer's apetite is never satified. And his greedy, controlling, agressive behavior does not stop at women. Kimberla clearly shows this with the character of Curtis Black. What captured my attention is when a woman do a low, self-esteemed belly roll--like Adrienne and Mariah--to get (as they think) or stay with a man, he treats her accordingly. She has no respect for herself and he shows her no respect. His respect and tolerance of her is lower than the belly roll she did to get him. He know that he can do anything he wants to her: lie, cheat, disrespect and abuse her because he knows that she will stoop to any level to keep him. Therefore he continues in his ways until he is self-entrapped or his world crumbles around him. He too, gets his coming downs.

As a parent raising teenagers: "Too Much of a Good Thing" should give all parents a wake-up check about who their children are talking to on the internet. It brings to focus that parents should never over busy themselves with the demands of a job and today's busy world that they are not aware of what their children are doing whether it is on the internet or otherwise.

When children get on the wrong track, I personally believe that love and the presence of God in their lives give parents a chance to win their children back. This message is potrayed in "Too Much of a Good Thing."

Kimberla plainly shows that there is a price to pay for the choices we make.

"Too Much of a Good Thing" is an outstanding read.
