Summary: excellent book
Comment: After reading the comments from A reader from St. Louis, MO it's easy to see why he doesn't understand the logic of this book - because s/he doesn't simply can't think logically. It's not hard to see why other countries hate us; not one has the freedoms and rights and opportunites we in the USA have. Why does reader from St. Louis think so many immigrants keep coming to this country? To blame our foreign policy for the hatred directed at us is illogical and ridiculous. Most countries are simply jealous that we don't need them, but they need us. Without our help, and the money we sent, to rebuild Europe after after WWII, Europe wouldn't be where it is now. Without the help we've given our allies over the years, more countries in Europe would be speaking a different language than they do now, especially France, who pretty much welcomed Hitler with open arms at one point. This is an excellent book that that all should read, and reader in St. Louis should do a some reading about our own history before making comments about things he apparently knows little about.

Summary: A Must-Read For All Americans
Comment: I found John Gibson's book compelling and amazing. Perhaps you already know that much of the world today, at least the world's media outlets, have it in for the United States. It is important to see it spelled out with specific examples, history, and in context as John Gibson does here. We, the average guys, just don't have access to this important side of the story that's being written in the war on terrorism. What upset me deeply was learning of the direct complicity that Canada's prime minister, Jacques Chretien, had in the deaths of American soldiers in Afghanistan. Canada is our friend, right? Just gotta love those fellow "Canadians", even if they are al-Queda terrorists. What is wrong with you?
It is especially disheartening, however, to hear S. Korea say anything but"thanks", as they owe their lives and country to Americans who gave their lives in the cause of freedom, stemmed the tide of communism and totalitarianism on that pennisula, and today keep them from hell's forward march by the North Koreans. My father served in the Korean War, my grandfather went to France in WWI, my brother will always be a Marine. America may have its problems, but it is full of the greatest people on earth. We have been willing to fight against dictators and for freedom everywhere. It's shocking how ungrateful and miserable citizens in places like France, Italy and Belgium are now towards the U.S. John Gibson's book is an eye-opener.

Summary: Clarification is required
Comment: Speaking as a Brit I can confidently say the author and reviewers of this book are misinformed. The majority of the British public don't hate America because of Bush or his reaction to 9/11. It's simpler than that. We just hate America because it's full of Americans.

I hope this helps to clarify the situation for you.
