Summary: Not bad, very focused on the American lifestyle.
Comment: I found that this book had some excellent suggestions to make a family household more organised and I will be making use of these. However, I found that the book is aiming at women who are at a higher level in the corporate business structure than myself (perhaps at a middle to senior management level), and assumes that they will have a lot of money available to help resolve their time problems.

The section on travelling when you are a working mother seemed rather poor to me, I have done a fair bit of overseas travel and am experienced at this. I would suggest that you review the website [URL] for some excellent travel tips both with and without your children.

Finally, some other sections of this book were very much based on the American lifestyle (such as what to do with your kids during school holidays...ie camp and setting your kids up for scholorships). As an Australian, these sections are not of use to me.

Summary: Practical and easy-to-read!
Comment: I'm a new working mom with a ten-month-old daughter! I have been searching for resources to support my decision and all I'd found has been stay-at-home mom information! This book is a godsend! Although alot of it has to do with school-age children, which I know I can use for years to come, it has given me tips and ideas to use immediately as well as reassuring me that I can do it all and have my kids turn out ok! I'd rather be home, but for those of us who can't be, this is a the book to read!

Summary: A Must Have For Any Working Mom Returning to the Workplace
Comment: I think this book will be very, very useful to any mom who is first returning to the workplace. While it definitely will be useful to all working moms, I have a feeling that the longer you have worked, the less likely it will be you will find really useful pointers in this book. However, if you're about to go back to work, you've got to read this book. Personally, I have been working for 4 years after having my kids, so I didn't really find the beginning chapters on organization all that helpful. I had already figured a lot out myself. That being said, I really wish I had seen those chapters 4 years ago, they would have saved me a lot of time and aggravation. What I did find helpful was her hints on how to handle kids being in school, something I have recently started to experience. Those chapters made me feel like I am not the only one facing the problems I am facing. What I found really important, and what I fear a lot of working moms don't focus on is the last chapter in the book, the chapter dealing with taking care of yourself. She lets you know it's ok to get a facial, a manicure, a massage, if you can do it, because as a working mom, you deserve it.

As I said above, this is a terrific book. If you have been out there working for a while, you probably know a lot of these things Goldman discusses in her book, but in that case, buy the book and give it to a coworker or friend who is just returning to work. She'll thank you for it immensely.
