Summary: Mary's no lamb
Comment: Lisa Scottoline in her debut Everywhere That Mary Went introduces feisty Mary DiNunzio of South Philadelphia. Mary is a recently widowed, soon to be made partner of a prestigious law firm. Mary is also being stalked. She is receiving prank phone calls, notes and being followed by a car. She is getting spooked and beginning to wonder if the stalker could have been the hit and run driver who killed her husband.
She has two good friends who are very interesting characters, Brent, her secretary and Judy, fellow lawyer. She also has a new love interest who she is afraid may be the stalker.
Overall the book is a well planned and paced mystery, with characters who are interesting and entertaining. Book is not deeply intellectual, but that is not why one would read a book such as this. It has good entertainment value.

Summary: Everywhere that Mary went...I went there too!!
Comment: First book I've read by Lisa; but it won't be my last...
Never been to Philadelphia, but feel like I have been thanks to this author's way with describing the town and its areas also. Loved Mary's parents -- they appear to be 'everyone's parents -- and (being Catholic) I enjoyed her book immensely for that reason also. Her three dimensional characters really make this a very good (and amusing) read; and the dialogue makes one feel that they are right there with Mary (EVERYWHERE she went)...

Summary: I went with Mary and then... well, nothing
Comment: Everywhere That Mary Went started out fairly good with some interesting plots developing, but in the end, it was nothing to get too worked up about. When we find out just who is subjecting Mary to all this craziness, we're left not with thoughts of "Oh, of course! Why didn't I think of him?!", instead, it's more of "Really? That doesn't even make sense". This book takes I-didn't-see-it-coming to a whole new level. And I don't mean that in a good way. All-in-all, a mindless rainy day read -- not horrible by any means, but not worth running to the store for either.
