Summary: Parts of the truth definitely in here!
Comment: This book came out in Manila, Philippines before the movie, and really helped in keeping me up to date on the plot line. I started from scratch, doing background reading on the "X-Files" so I could understand the movie. Started with the official site, then the fan fiction, and can now be called a novice X-philer. The book complements the movie very well, and I think Chris Carter did an excellent job in expanding the series from its original TV format to the big screen, and now books. Great work!

Summary: Great book adaption!
Comment: I loved how Elizabeth Hand *sp?* adapted this book. Though if CC (Chris Carter) didn't write the script to the movie we wouldn't be reading this book. I think the book has all the same intrege as the TV show. I think this book came right out from the movie itself. All the educated words that you would expect Mulder and Scully to say were there. I really liked how the author seemed to copy right from the movie. Even all the things that CC edited out. I thought that the book made it seem that you were actually watching the movie. I also thought I could hear just how the characters said their dialogue becasue of the great book adaption. I thank Elizabeth Hand for making this book.

Summary: I would say EXCELLENT, but then I'd be lying.........
Comment: Botttom line, I am an X-Phile, but that doesn't mean I love everything Chris Carter does. This is a fine book, but I thought it was just a little too dead. It SCREAMS "This is EXACTLY what happened, this is the EXACT way it happened, and this is EXACTLY what it looks like" There's no description whatsoever. As for the overall book, I'm glad CC decided not to include a billion pictures. Anyone who thinks they can save their seven bucks to see a movie by reading a five dollar adaption is completely destroyed by this one adaption. One to three small pictures, not highlighting key moments, included in the book, it doesn't paint the picture. The reader is forced to read it, instead of looking at a few pictures and figuring out what happens next without reading it. Good movie adaption novels are often so degraded by a dozen pictures that it is called a Junior novellization, which is written in more abstract for younger audiences. That way, parents can in a way let their kids see a R movie without actually seeing it.
