The book is well structured. There are a number of helpful solved examples. Every section ends at atleast one example. There are also practice questions at the end of each section(if possible). Author has put challenging problems at the end of each chapter. The book is written in a technical way.

The book is full of knowledge.

I strongly recommend this book to those who are interested in this subject.

The reason of giving 4 stars is that if you are new to circuit analysis then you may have some trouble understanding the fundamentals. Moreover, if you are weak in Calculus(esp. Differential calculus), you may find yourself under hot water. But as I have already taken a course on advanced calculus(the book does not require it - atleast you should know a little about differential calculus), I like this book.

For the above reasons I suggest you buy "Introductory Circuit Analysis" by "Robert L. Boylestad". This is a very very nice work by Mr. Boylestad. After reading Boylestad's book one should go for Hayt's "Engineering Circuit Analysis" for the sake of completeness.

Hayt explained the concepts using mathematical proofs while Boylestad explained mostly by physical analysis of elements.

Summary: PREFERABLE ONE BUT NOT GIVEN ALL ANSWERS TO VERIFY
Comment: This is a book featuring a good explanation both mathematical as well as physical. One of the better books in the field of circuit analysis. But there are no answers for even numbered problems which is the main problem with it.The exercise problems are challenging though it is the essential in creating interest. But I've found that the terminology used is ANTI-ENGINEERING LANGUAGE.I've got 80%satisfaction. Meet you later..Byaeee

Rating: 2
Summary: Explanations - Mediocre, Problems - Impossible
Comment: I have used this book for Circuit Theory I & II in college and I find the questions in the book VERY difficult. Many times, the solutions require a page full of calculations to derive one answer in chapter 2 (KVL)! In addition, the authors do not make any effort to gradually increase the problem's difficulty level, they simply make all their problems difficult. This is frustrating for students learning new concepts, because excercises are meant to reinforce what you have learned.

Unless you have prior knowledge of circuit theory, do not purchase this book. The book is only good if you want to sharpen your existing circuit theory skills.
