Comment: I borrowed this book from a friend, and while it was interesting, I certainly wouldn't want to keep it around for a reference. My main objection to this book is that it really only adresses the experience of women who go cruising with a husband or boyfriend, and where he is the main motivator, captain, etc. I would have also liked to see some discussion of the experiences of women cruising alone or with other women - I know there are some. A lot of the content of the book was very simple, common-sense advice. Maybe it is most useful as a pointer to other resources.

Summary: Not just for women
Comment: I bought this for my partner and myself. I read it first, and I was impressed with the authors ability to capture the big picture of getting ready to actually cruising. I have read many books on how to, but I found it wonderfully refreshing to paint the view from a women's perspective and stay more general. I gathered that is one of the authors points in the way men and women may learn to sail and cruise. I thought the book touched on many of the real life issues for couples.
