Summary: Search is satisfied, I'm home and I'm no longer alone.
Comment: Have read at least two dozen how-to-trade books looking for a market that 1. Was open when I could trade. 2. Guaranteed stops
to preserve capital. 3. Offered leverage. 4. Was relatively simple to understand. 5. Did not require a large committment.
6. Has awsome liquidity. 7. Free of commissions other than a buy/sell spread and a one dollar rollover fee every two days if a trade is still open. 8. Level playing field. James Dicks has written the most complete introductory how-to book that I encountered. I would expect no less from a systems designer with a teaching background. He covers the subject briefly but with clear examples. Ironic that McGraw-Hill's proofing was not
up to Mr Dicks' level of professionalism, including reversing candlestick definitions from bullish to bearish. (It takes more than spell-checker.) Attended a free 4X Made Easy introductory seminar and was blown away by the completeness of the book's trade evaluations and the many support features available on-line and live (from Dallas, not Bangladesh) should one choose to participate. (Purchased the software and am proceeding to paper trade and immerse myself in FOREX.) Talk is cheap, but nothing happens without committment. Those looking to be cocktail party critics should look elsewhere. Those serious about improving their lot in life can stop here and look no farther. Be aware that the FOREX is not the futures market. No expirations will cause you to be right but too early and loose all as in trading Options. Perfect market, great approach, sincere and attentive support personnel. Go for it! No. I am not related in any way.

Summary: Great book for a new trader to the Forex Market
Comment: I found the book to be fast paced and very informative. After reading some of the negative reviews it seems like they are all posted by the same person. Someone that hadn't even read the whole book. My views: The book will show you how to trade the Foreign Exchange and goes into advanced techniques. This is important if you want to protect your money while trading the Forex. I will note that different types of software are mentioned, but in reality there are probably 100 other companies flogging their wares. I did a free trial of the software James discussed and it worked quite well.
I would also recommend trading for a living and reminses of a stock operator for more on trading psycology.

Summary: EXTREMELY let down
Comment: Shame on me. I read the reviews and ignored them. Shame on James Dicks and McGraw-Hill for not delivering. I was looking for FOREX made easy. OR better yet, a nice easy to comprehend introduction to the world of FOREX. Well, this indeed is a giant ad for his companies and software. His products may actually be good but I'm not willing to even investigate them because I feel that I paid for a BIG ad.
I found Dicks' book to be quite technical and not at all EASY to understand by any means. The only easy thing here is that he clearly is leading you down a path to buy his software and use his ALERT system at $170 per month. There is no insight to a SYSTEM here just basics that you can find anywhere including on the net. Don't waste your time buying this book!
