Comment: Chances are, if you are shopping for paramedic texts, your choices are pretty much limited by what your instructor has on the syllabus. But whether you're fortunate enough to have a choice, or an instructor has chosen this for you, this latest edition of a tested standard will serve you well.

If you're in a class that mandates some other text and you have the money to spend on an auxilliary reference, this is also a fine selection.

The text is well constructed, attractively formatted and eminently readable without being pedantic or annoyingly simple like the AAOS Orange books were when you were taking EMT-B. The appendix is well written and exhaustive enough to satisfy the demanding researcher, and the accompanying illustrations and photos clearly and comprehensively support the text. If this isn't a reference you have in your personal library, get it, or convince your company or station to buy a copy for the professional reading room.
