Summary: Top of the Line for Basic Medical Providers
Comment: Prehospital emgergency care is the best book that I have read for EMT-B level care providers. I live in Ontario, Canada, where we do not have EMT's. We have paramedics and first responders. This book is a great first book for those getting into the emergency medicine profession. It covers the basics of the basics very well and very thoroughly. The pictures are clear and easy to understand and the language isn't too complicated to understand.
We used a version of this book for medical training in the fire service and it has proven itself to be a very practical and efficient learning tool. There are expanded areas in cetain chapters where the book goes above and beyond the level of knowledge that EMT-B level providers will need to know. It's always good to know more than you need to and this book helps tremendously with that. Those intending on pursuing their careers into more advanced paramedicine should consider making this book the foundation to their knowledge.

The CD that comes along with it is a valuable resource that assists with learning. As well as the web site that is given in the book can be used as a study guide. This is a must for all responders to medical incidents. This is the core information that all emergency providers really need to know because of the fact that it doesn't take that long to learn and that just a little knowledge can go a long way to save somebody's life. Even police officers should have a copy of this in their library and review it often.

Comment: Brady - Prehospital Emergency Care, I have my own preference, I always read. This is the best Prentice Hall Product and have sixth edition. Text contains clear, step-by-step to education, picture or diagram is explanations with understandable material that is comprehensive, stimulating, and challenging enough to prepare , real on-the-job situations and attractive price.

Best-selling. It¡¦s because this book is not only suitable for EMT ¡V Basic. It¡¦s suitable for all. People want to study in any time, any elsewhere of life support. This book was considered the all resource for medical and trauma emergencies.

In this book train students to do thorough patient assessment. Because patient assessment is very important, use limit resource to save unlimit life. I think this book is leadership on this area. And expanded to include even more full-color art and photos of procedures and updated equipment, as well as new flowcharts illustrating assessment and care steps for various emergency situations. The authors also bring students up to date on new protocols that summarize cardiac arrest, pediatric emergencies, as well as many other crisis conditions. NEW twenty-six new assessment flowcharts illustrate care steps for breathing difficulty, cardiac compromise, diabetic emergencies, bleeding and shock, burns, head injuries, newborn resuscitation, and many more. NEW assessment protocols summarize emergency care for cardiac arrest, stroke, allergic reaction, near-drowning, abdominal injuries, and pediatric emergencies, among others. In-depth patient assessment-based approach presented in a clear, logical format. Case studies integrated throughout the text. Comprehensive, step-by-step coverage meets and exceeds the requirements of the D.O.T. EMT-B curriculum. NEW¡XNew, reader-friendly design highlights key information. Basic Life Support review and National Registry Skill Sheets are included. BLS review helps students recall material that should previously have been covered. National Registry Review Sheets help students prepare for the test they must pass to be certified EMT-B's.

The best innovative is provide weblinks with interactive education. Contains chapter-by-chapter review quizzes, message boards, chat rooms, and additional student and instructor resources. And ¡§Web Watch¡¨ icons throughout the text direct students to current websites that offer further discussion of chapter topics. I believe that is great imporve!
