Summary: Most outstanding criminal theory book
Comment: Why Crime? is the most outstanding criminal theory book available. The author reviews findings from many (but not all) academic disciplines and provides an exhaustive review of the literature about why crime happens. The most important aspect of the book is the integration of findings from different fields of study, which he does from chapter to chapter. Chapters 4 and 5 are too biased on biology but later chapters are fair. Chapter 10 presents a new theory and summarizes the whole book. Try not to look at the figures in this chapter because they make no sense. Overall the book is wonderful.
