Summary: Treasure Island a real treasure
Comment: I highly recommend Treasure Island by Robert Lewis Stevenson because
it has an excellent plot and theme. Stevenson also writes using lots of details, and many
interesting similes and metaphors.
This story of adventure fiction tells about Jim Hawkins the young protagonist who
happens upon a treasure map. He then joins up with Dr Livesey who will lead the
adventure and the dangerous voyage filled with obstacles, and the evil pirate Long Jon
Silver and his crew in search of the buried treasure. The story begins in England in the
year 1854, but they then sail to Treasure Island.
This book is written in past and present tense from the points of view of Jim
Hawkins, and Dr Livesey. Here are some examples of Stevevson's writing as he uses
several details. "From the side of the hill, which was here steep and stony, a spout of
gravel was dislodged, and fell rattling and bounding threw the trees." Here's an example
of Stevenson's great skill as he uses similes and metaphors. "From trunk to trunk the
creature flitted like a dear, running man like on two legs, but unlike any man I had ever
seen stooping almost double as it ran."
Every page is exciting and thrilling, often leaving the reader hanging on the edge,
not knowing what's going to happen next. I think the chapter titles are really nice
because they give you a small idea about what's coming up next.
If your looking for an exciting and adventurous story I think that you would truly
enjoy this book.

Summary: Classic Adventure Novel
Comment: "Treasure Island" is the classic adventure novel by Robert Louis Stevenson. Set on the high seas amid treasures and pirates, it is the story of a young boy's adventure. "Treasure Island" has been done by everyone from Disney to the Muppets. It's been imitated many times and influenced countless books and movies.
A mysterious pirate shows up at an inn owned by Jim Hawkin's mother. The pirate is killed by a gang of rogues, but Jim finds a treasure map belonging to the pirate. Jim then embarks on a journey to far away island to find the treasure. Of course, nobody can be trusted - especially the cook, Long John Silver. With his peg leg and parrot, Silver is the stereotypical pirate. Once the island is reached, sides are chosen - the mutinous pirates against the ship's crew. Jim goes on a journey within a journey on the island, going from one side to another, as the treasure is hunted for.
Everyone should read this book at some point. It's especially good for young boys, due to the fact that the main character (Jim) is a young boy. It's well crafted, and easy to read. And it's hard to put down once you get going. What else can you ask for?

Summary: The Treasure Hunt
Comment: The best book I ever read was Treasure Island. I liked it because it is an adventure story. Adventure books are my favorite type of books! I thought the treasure hunt would be the most exciting part, but it wasn't. The gun fight was much more exciting.
This exciting book is about a boy named Jim Hawkins. He lives and works at a hotel. One day a pirate comes and gives Billy Bones, Jim's boss, the black spot. The pirate leaves and Billy faints and never wakes up. Jim found Billy's treasure map. The pirates come back and attack his house. This is only the beginning of Jim's fantastic adventure to find the treasure.
I recommend this book to anyone who is bored and needs some adventure.
