Summary: wonderful!!!
Comment: This touching story is about a monster who is afraid children will jump out and scare him when he is going to bed. Great bedtime story for children afraid of monsters lurking in dark places, because Clyde and his father have a discussion about children. His father asks Clyde if he would ever scare a human child, and of course, Clyde is horrified that his father would even think such a thing. So in turn, he explains that children would never think of scaring him, either. This cute and warm story was my little girl's favorite.

Comment: As a kindergarten teacher, I use Clyde Monster in the classroom to discuss fears and other bedtime issues. Crowe does an excellent job of introducing a family of monsters who discuss their son, Clyde, and his fear of people. This story is both humorous and thought provoking for young children!
