Summary: The Book that got me Hooked
Comment: This was the first book of Ann Rinaldi's I have read and it so far has been one of my favorites. This is the " behind closed doors" view of what actually happened during the Revoultionary War with Benedict Arnold. Becca is sent by her well educated middling sort mother to "finish herself". As she is doing so she finds out how manipulatitive her mistress Peggy Shippen is. Sheltered from the reality of the cold harsh world Peggy Shippen someone Becca will soon learn to admaire yet loath so much. Becca never thinks she will understand how to "finish hesrself" but she learns by the help of Peggy and her family and suprisingly Bennedict Arnold. I recomend this book to anyone who is a Revolutionary War buff or someone who enjoys a good book. This book is well written by my favorite author Ann Rinald

Summary: The Dragon Lady
Comment: This book was only pretty good. It's only my second Ann Rinaldi book, but this one wasn't as good as An Accouintance With Darkness. It was, however, fairly suspenceful in a boring sort of way. I read it in a day, mostly just because I was bored.
My main complaint is that there was so much going on, that Becca never had time to form as a character. I couldn't really connect with her. Her emotions were sort of random. I don't know, maybe I'm too young for it, but I really didn't think this book was really special.
Okay, time for a good word. The book was well written, excepting the fact we didn't get to know Becca. Ann Rinaldi has a unique way of writing that I've taken a liking to. I look forward to reading her other works.
This book was about a young girl sent to be "finished" by learning some finer points of education while serving as the personal maid of the spoiled Peggy. She struggles with the signs of betrayal and the comfort of ignoring them.
Due to being fairly interesting, I'll rate this book four stars.

Summary: Spectacular! Makes you feel like your actualy there!!
Comment: Finishing Becca is about a 14-year-old girl named Becca Synge in the Revolutionary War in 1778. When Becca goes to work for the Shippens and for their spoiled, beautiful daughter-Peggy, her world is turned upside down. Then she must also work for her mistress new husband, the despised by all towns-people, merciless, rich- Benedict Arnold. Becca is faced with many decisions, is she should be loyal to her family, to her country, or to her mistress. With all this in mind she must concentrate on trying to find her "missing pieces" as her mother puts it. But then she watches in shock as her Mistress-Peggy urges to turn Benedict Arnold against the Continental army and all of the Patriots, to join the British.
