Summary: Useful diagnosis in the face of a treament
Comment: What kind of things a therapist should recognize, to succesfully guide his patient toward a change? Larry Beutler and his colleagues show a clear evidence in that key point for clinical treatments. Functional impairment, level of resistance, coping style and level of distress seem to be important clues to match a particular patient, to a particular treatment. I think these results will have great importance for clinical practice, health care organizations work, and for those who has found that DSM IV, sometimes offers a little bit narrow view to prescribe an specific treatment to a particular person. I strongly recommend this book, because it can be one of the most important in the history of our field
