Summary: Just Beautiful
Comment: This is not a comprehensive book on everything that Dreamweaver does. It is one of the most thoughtfully designed and well-written books on how to use Dreamweaver functions in an integrated way to put together a small website. What you do with Dreamweaver after that is completely up to you, but this book shows you how to start out and explains why you are doing certain things a certain way. The chapter on frames was good but a bit confusing, possibly because of the way the program is designed. I would have liked a chapter at the end of the book on some more advanced topics. The CD is actually useful because it has ready-made image and file folders for import. I recommend supplementing this book with a Visual Quickstart Guide on Dreamweaver, which can answer questions on certain functions with greater depth.

Summary: H.O.T. -an excellent book, well written, best training book
Comment: The book is EXCELLENT! Lynda writes with a comfortable style, easy, accurate and interesting, and with a particularly adept sensitivity to the new user or student. This book is the very best I've found for a person just beginning to use Dreamweaver 2, which is also a great piece of software. I did every exercise in the book and there are very few errors, (and no serious errors) so I strongly disagree with the implications of a previous reviewer. If you want the very best book of its kind, I highly recommend H.O.T.!!!

Summary: Excellent Tutorial for Dreamweaver 2.0! I loved it!
Comment: Dreamweaver 2.0 - Hands On Training, one of two great Dreamweaver books. You should really consider this book if you'd like to go through simple exercises that will demonstrate the true power of Dreamweaver 2.0. I thought I knew what was easy and powerful with Dreamweaver - UNTIL I purchased this book! My eyes were opened to ideas I never before considered. Dreamweaver 2.0 is an unbelievably great web design product, and this book is the perfect companion to anyone at the beginner or intermediate stages. Then again, I thought I was pretty advanced, so unless you know EVERYTHING about Dreamweaver, consider ordering this one. It's a great book. You'll probably rediscover things you had previously forgotten. I did, several times.
The other great Dreamweaver book is the Dreamweaver 2.0 Bible. It's an excellent reference that covers everything you would ever want to know in great detail, but in a simple fashion.
I wish all technical writers could pick up a few tips from these writers. The simple language and easy examples are about as perfect as one can imagine.
One note - DW2 - Hands On Training has a few typos, but nothing serious. You'll see them immediately, and they shouldn't be distracting at all. I don't remember even one typo that made this book technically inaccurate. Don't worry about that. You'll LOVE this book.
