Summary: DON'T BUY IT USED
Comment: This is a warning to anyone considering buying a used copy of this book. Twice now I have tried to purchase a used copy of it, and twice have gotten swindled. What happened is that the people selling it somehow got their hands on an Instructor's Trial Version of it, which only works for a limited time and then EXPIRES. So they sold the expired version to me, and I tried to run the programs on the CD and got an error message "EXPIRED." Twice in a row now this has happened! I can't even tell you if Activphysics is helpful or not, because I can't use the versions I've gotten!! So if you are thinking of buying one of the used copies of this, BEWARE!

Summary: Learning to think like Einstein and Bohr ...
Comment: I use Activphysics 2 in the community college physics classes I teach. Activphysics 1 & 2 show students how to solve problems by using physics concepts, pictorial and graphical representations, and only then by translating the problem into mathematics. Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding throughout the process. Students will need to have a basic understanding of Algebra and Trigonometry, and a good introductory physics textbook, such as those by Randall Knight.
