Summary: Good writing advice, but clumsy format and binding
Comment: DECISIONS: A WRITER'S HANDBOOK certainly contains good advice. But I find the format and binding (the edition I have is spiral bound) is very clumsy and the tone of instruction very clinical, even a bit alienating. I bought this book at a college bookstore, and I believe that that most likely is its best setting: a classroom where it is mandatory reading. If you are looking to brush up on your writing I would recommend CLIFF'S QUICK REVIEW: WRITING: GRAMMAR, USAGE, AND STYLE instead.
