Summary: Classic for being first not best
Comment: This book is undoubtedly one of the important books ever written on voting. This does not mean it is one of the best. I can provide two reasons for this observation. First, the data they use is not as good as the modern data. Second, Partisanship has changed a lot in 40 years. Still a vital book for the library of any student of voting behavior.
