Summary: It may be dated but it's still brilliant!
Comment: I read this book while doing a presentation on CA at university, having got interested through the Game of Life. It's a marvellous summary of the work of people like John Von Neumann and Stanislaw Ulam and although dated (I don't think it even had details of E F Codd's work) it must be an essential read for anyone interested in CA.
