Comment: I love this cookbook! It was the first cookbook I ever had, and even though I've collected many, many cookbooks in the years since, it's the one I keep coming back to over and over again.

Even though it's not as long as many of Betty Crocker's subsequent cookbooks, this book has all the best recipes -- literally everything you need to make wonderful meals, side dishes, breads and desserts for your family or company.

Many of the recipes come with interesting and helpful side-notes which tell you how to make simple variations to the basic recipe. Whether I'm looking for a yummy, kid-pleasing dish to feed my family or something more impressive for company, this book has it all!
