Summary: Marginally Byronic pabulum, an attempt at a mystery.
Comment: I was really excited to see a mystery by Byron scholar, Anne Fleming. Unfortunately, the stiff characters and slow story line make the pages turn like lead, leaving the reader to trudge through the insipid plot to the bitter end. What one is left with is a smattering of superficial information regarding the life of Byron, and a feeling of time wasted. I respect the intentions of Ms. Fleming, but found that she just didn't have the fictional facilities required to make it work.
