It is amazing how important our hair is to us. This book will change the way you see your own hair forever.

Comment: Wonderful must-have for sistas who want to understand the historical background of nappy hair. There are many stories and accounts and the author connects these with events and history to give you a full picture of what NAPPY hair is about in this modern day society. I love the COVER PHOTO!!!

Summary: Impressive historical account
Comment: As with the first review I read here, this book was indeed enlightening as well as entertaining. I would also like to add comforting because it includes so many tidbits reminiscent of my own experiences with hair as a woman of African descent. At times it also felt like I was talking to a wise elder. I learned a lot of history would highly recommend this book to those women who have internalized the negative messages all around us concerning our natural hair.
