Summary: If you have no background in taxation, this book is for you.
Comment: I took Tax as a 3L and was completely lost until I received my copy of this book. I used it to supplement my course readings and found that I was able to participate in discussion without looking like a fool. I got a very good grade in the course and I feel that the explainations provided by the book were probably why.
