Comment: Jim Burke here! I thought I would add a bit more info on this year's Daybook. It is not a complete revision, but this 2003-04 edition does include features many (myself included) suggested after using the Daybook last year. First, it includes dates on the monthly section and a designated space on the weekly pages to indicate the date. The calendars are formatted in way more common, familiar format (Sunday to Saturday). It is also drilled to fit right into a binder. I cleaned up all errors and added a few other little improvements. Thanks for your feedback on the first one; it made a difference. I have seen a new type of plastic pocket at places like Staples that you can snap into a spiral bound notebook; you might want to check that out--I will be trying that out this year.

Summary: Great tool for new teachers!
Comment: As a new teacher this year, one of the most frustrating things was finding a way to keep my lessons together. Jim Burke's book not only gives a place to organize my lesson plans and reflect upon them, but also useful tools for every aspect of my life. There are sections that remind me to access the other parts of my life besides teacher, and sections to help focus on individual student attention. I also like that there are different sections to keep lists of administrators, substitutes, and sick days. If my book ever went missing, I would feel lost without it! Thanks for making my first year a whole lot easier!
