Summary: This is Nora Roberts??
Comment: I bought this book because I like to read everything that Nora Roberts writes. I have read some of her early books, and have enjoyed them. However, if you've read any of Nora's books, you would hardly believe she wrote these. The other reviews are accurate. The heroines are not even likeable--they are silly and tempermental. How can anyone fall in love with them?? The heroes are inscrutable--so much so, that when they proclaim their love for the heroine on the last page, the heroine is shocked! No wonder, because they don't act like men in love, they act live cavemen ready to drag the woman off to the cave and "ravish" her. These stories are so old fashioned, they seem like they were written 30 or 40 years ago, not 20 years ago. I still can't believe that I am giving Nora Roberts (my favorite author) a "1" star review!

Summary: horrible
Comment: I have read every Nora Roberts book that I can get my hands on. I've loved most of them, but both of these were just aweful. I never connected with the characters, there wasn't any captivating story line, and it was just plain boring. None of her older books are as good as the new ones, but most of them are still readable, and some what enjoyable. This one isn't even worth checking out from the library for free.

Summary: I love Nora Roberts, but this is horrible
Comment: If you like weak-willed, wimpy heroines that don't know their own minds, and "can't resist" when an arrogant pig accosts them, then this is the book for you! Nora Roberts has progressed since these dated, early 80s stories to much better characters. The men she writes now are arrogant, but fun with it. These guys are just irritating. I know that at the time that these stories were written, formula romance was what it was, but there was no reason to re-publish these. It was a dirty trick on those of us who buy Ms. Roberts's books because we've read almost everything she has written and never been disappointed. This book simply proved to me that no one is perfect, not even Nora Roberts. I will continue to read her books as soon as they're written, but I will think twice before buying her old stuff republished.
I did give her two stars, but only because she is Nora Roberts, and I did manage to finish the books. Frankly, the fact that I finished the stories are testiment to the writing, because I truly hated the characters.
