Summary: Tricked into a Wedding by a Child
Comment: Cobbler's Crossing is a small Oregonian town situated where the Columbia River meets the sea. Ethan Drum is sheriff and he's worried, as he is in the woods alone, looking for little Jason Richards. Ethan remembers one frightening night several years ago, back when his wife had been alive. Their daughter Nikki had gone missing and they were worried sick until she'd been found. He desperately wants to find Jason, so that the boy's mother, Beth, won't have to go through that.
And he does. Then Jason tells the Sheriff that he'd run away because he had overheard his grandparents tell his mother they were going to take him from her. The boy's father had been dead a year and it seems his father's parent's don't like Beth's artist lifestyle. When Ethan and Jason get back to the sheriff's station the grandparent are there along with Beth and Jason is frightened. So frightened he starts lying and the first lie he tells his grandparents is that Beth and Ethan are getting married. He believes by telling them this, that they will leave. However, they don't believe it and in this cute little story one thing leads to another and guess what, we have a wedding.
I enjoyed this romantic read. I particularly liked the way Ms. Jensen makes her characters come to life, especially the children. And I liked the way she kept me interested in the on again, off again relationship between Beth and Ethan. Five stars from me.
