Comment: Bravo for Gabhart for a wonderful story. For a book for young adults, "A kindred spirit" is very different. Instead of the usual carefree, careless, boy-chasing, girl-crazy teenagers, Gabhart focuses on Erin, a budding artist - quiet, polite, and not your average Miss Teen of the year. And also Rick Lucas, studious, aloof, and responsible. I really like the twist in the story, about how Nicky is actually Erin's brother. And I like the description of Erin's drawings - the insight into her feelings when she draws - it's beautifully written.

In brief, a wonderful book. Keep up the good work, Ann.
