Summary: The best one yet!
Comment: I've read all of Faye Kellerman's books, and I think all of them are terrific. But I find this one especialy thrilling. This is the only book out of all the Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus books that shows another point of veiw. Terry was in a way telling Chris's side of the story. Even though i'm Jewish Faye Kellerman made me look at my religion with renewed faith. I hope that Faye Kellerman will continue the series so that we could all enjoy another wounderful book.

Summary: Chilling cliffhanger--where's the sequel?
Comment: The final sentence of Justice gave me the chills! I would really like to see Terry and Chris pop up again in a future novel. I gobbled this novel up, ignoring my husband, the TV, the kitchen, and everything else until I was finished with it. And how sorry I was for the book to end! I was disappointed, though, by the loose ends concerning the murder of Cheryl Diggs--the supposed main focus of this mystery. The relation of her death to the other, black teenager's death was a super-lucky shot that only a fictitious detective could make. I just wasn't goodnatured enough to accept it with equanimity. However, on the whole I really enjoy following the lives of Peter Decker and his family, enough to forgive Ms. Kellerman for just about anything.

Summary: BLIND JUSTICE
Comment: With this eighth entry in her popular Decker/Lazarus series, Faye Kellerman finally reaches a pinnacle of writing. "Justice" is a compelling mystery and psychological thriller that puts Decker and especially Rina in supporting roles. The voice of this novel is student Terry McLaughlin, a virginal Catholic girl, who finds herself tutoring a stud muffin with a somewhat colorful and enigmatic past, which includes the murder of his abusive father, and ties to his Mafia-family. Chris Whitman is the boy, a handsome, charismatic youth who develops an obsession with Terry. Problem is Chris is the chief suspect in the murder of his trashy girl friend. When he confesses in order to protect Terry, Decker finds himself in an unusual kaleidoscope of inter-departmental intrigue and trying to justify Whitman's conviction. Another powerfl presence in the book is Wanda Bontemp, a black cop, whose own prejudices and misconceptions have been her own private demons.
The story is well written, and Kellerman's religious preferences don't dominate the novel.
A good book in this up and down series.
