Summary: The purrfect book for those who love cats (and lots of puns)
Comment: "Purrfectly Purrfect: Life at the Acatemy" pretty much gives away what this book is about from the title. As Patricia Lauber explains, "As any cat owner knows, cats are born purrfect. But cats are purrfectionists--they wish to make sure that are PURRFECTLY purrfect." This explains why they go to the Acatemy and study things like mewsic and EtiCAT. However, this year at the Acatemy there is a twist: Dudley, who is only a kitten and much too young to attend the Acatemy, insists on showing up everyday.
With pictures by Betsy Lewin, "Purrfectly Purrfect" includes reports by the students on what they did on their summer vacations, lessons on geography (covering the CATskill Mountains and ConnectiCAT) and other subjects, and the 15 question EtiCAT exam that all young cats need to pass. Our kitten is now old enough to attend the Acatemy and I have been trying to read this book to Kiara so she has a clue about what to expend when she goes off to class each day. But, as she does with so many things, she just turns up her nose at the idea.
This book will also be of interest to young children who have kittens or cats, and who love word play, especially puns. Try this tasty sentence on for size: "A cat burglar from Katmandu was catapulted into a cataract and buried in a catacomb to the strains of a Magnificat soon after the catastrophe."

Summary: Purrfect Read!
Comment: At school, I just read this book and I loved it. It has a great plot, and what I liked most about it is the play on words. It
changes words like "academy" into "acatemy".It also showed copies of essays cats had written too! Last of all, I thought it was great how each cat had its own personality! It was easy to read, and great for kids (and parents too!)of all ages. I definitely recommend this book.
