Summary: Feeling good isnt the whole story
Comment: I agree with the other reviewers. This book definitely lives up to its title. On every page is Scripture that is positive and uplifting. But something is missing...the rest of the story. I would argue that we cannot fully appreciate or even understand the positive if we do not understand the negative. God never overlooked the negative and never made things prettier than they were. (one example...the book of Judges, especially the last three chapters.) In fact, God has often used them for His greater purpose and glory. Those "negative passages" are there for a reason. And be that reason a lesson from the past, a warning for the future, or just plain hidden in the heart of the Lord, we should not go taking scissors to the Bible just to make ourselves feel better. Had this book merely advertised itself as "uplifting snippets from the Bible" it could have been a worthwhile book. But to raise itself up to equality with the full Bible, even infer that it is better because there is nothing negative? No, my advice...buy a full Bible and get the whole perspective and the whole message and the whole posititve "feeling" from knowing that God is both wrathful and loving, the Giver of grace and judgement, ever jealous for His glory and His people.
