Summary: Excellent!!!! A MUST READ
Comment: J.California Cooper has done it again. Wake of the Wind was a very moving book. The setting was in the Civil War era (abolishing slavery). I felt as if I knew Life and Mor, their stuggles as well has their happiness. As if they were my ancestors. Once I finished reading this book I did a reality check on all of the African-Americans who died during slavery so that I could be where I am today. It touched my heart as well as my soul. I love all of J.C Cooper's work and I am die hard fan. If you like this book you will like Family, In Search of Satisfaction - all of her books really. I am waiting patiently on her next book whenever that may be.. J. California Cooper keep the books coming....

Summary: The only author I have read and cannot get enough of.
Comment: I know somewhere in her former life J. California Cooper had to be a former slave! How this woman finds the words to make you feel as if though you are that person she is talking about. You can feel the emotions just jumping off the page. If her characters are nervous, you are nervous if they are afraid, you feel afraid. I just don't feel that any other author can compare to this woman. All her books are not about slavery. Ms. Cooper makes a person get in touch with reality. The way she uses african dialect. It just compells me to read for hours on end. She has 7 books. And "every last one of them" are excellent. All her books rate 5 stars to me. These are the types of books that you tell your friends about. In my book club we have read all of her books and for 2-3 hours we dicuss them in length, never really finishing. The only bad thing about Ms. Cooper is she is not writing them fast enough. I wish she would write a little quicker. It was three years before she came out with The Wake of the Wind. And was just to anxious to get my hands on this book. I was not dissapointed. This book was awesome also. My hats off to Ms. Cooper. God has given her a talent and she definately uses it. Keep up the good work.

Summary: THE GREATEST BOOK OF ALL TIME!!!
Comment: The only way to describe this book is ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL! I finished it last night and this morning I was on the phone telling all of my closest and dearest friends about it. My sister gave me the book during a very traumatic time in my life and she told me "Read it when you're ready". I have never read a book that stood out like this. The words just seems to put you on that dark back road huddled together with the character's. Mor and Lifee's life-force seem to have placed me right in the book with them and I became a part of their family too. I believe EVERYONE should read The Wake Of The Wind. I will never feel the wind again and not think about this book.
