Comment: This is an interesting combination of autobiography and history lesson. Hope (with co-writer Mel Shavelson, who was one of Hope's joke writers) tell Bob's show-biz career story through the lens of world events. It's not straight storytelling- jokes come at a quick clip, which makes for amusing reading.
