Summary: "Lord Brocktree" is a Fun, Action-Packed Adventure!
Comment: Overall, "Lord Brocktree" is a very good book. Written by Brian Jacques, "Lord Brocktree" is a prequel to his first book, "Redwall". Most of the book takes place at Salamastradon, a mountain home for a handful of warrior hares and their leader, the badger Lord Stonepaw. However their sanctuary is soon attacked and invaded by Ungatt Trunn, an evil wildcat, and his Blue Horde army. Some of the hares manange to escape after Stonepaw sacrifices himself. Their new mission is to free the hares that were taken captive and to reclaim their home. To do this, a tribe of squirrels, a tribe of otters, a tribe of rabblehogs, the younger hares of King Bucko, a haremaid, and Stonepaw's son, Lord Brocktree must combine forces to rid Salamastradon of Ungatt Trunn. The climax of the book and my favorite scene involves Lord Brocktee and Ungatt Trunn going one-on-one in a winner-take-all death match.
One downside to "Lord Brocktree" is that it starts of extremely slowly. However, the action at the end, the huge cast of interesting characters, and the humor of the book more than make up for it. I would recommend "Lord Brocktree" for people who like action and for kids over the age of ten, considering parts of the book can be extremely violent.

Summary: Yet Another Epic From The World of Redwall
Comment: I first recieved this book as a Christmas gift from my parents earlier this year (I'm 15 years old). I knew nothing about the book, but what brought my parents to buy this book for me was it's author, Brian Jacques. I first read "Redwall" in fall 1999, and since have continued to read all the books he has written in a span of less than a year and a half. So when I recieved "Lord Brocktree" and picked it up later in the day and read it, I did not stop until I went to bed after midnight. I it such a glorious book in so many ways. Finally, we have an epic depicting the life of the First great Badger Lord, Brocktree. I have always been wondering what ever happened to him after I first heard about him in "Mossflower".

I will keep on reading Brian Jacque's work until I am stripped of my vision. I can't wait until his next book comes out this fall 2001! I strongly reccomend this book to everyone who wants to get away from modern life and read about what it was like when all modern technology was nothing. After reading one of his books, you'll understand what I mean...

Summary: Lord Brocktree
Comment: Lord Brocktree is one of my favorite books. It beats all the other Redwall books, and I will tell you why in this review.

This book seems ultimate, as in everything is x100. The huge hordes of Ungatt Trunn, The massive Brocktree, and the hopelessness of when Stonepaw was lord. The only part I don't like is that Redwall wasn't around yet, so there aren't the huge feasts like thy are in some other 14 Redwall books.

I strongly recommend you to read this book first, as it is first in the chronological order of Redwall.

Have a good read!!

-A helpful Redwall fan
