Summary: Exquisite Postmodern Critique of Celebrity-hood
Comment: This is an excellent, accessible collection of well-written essays on the intersection of sport, celebrity, and culture. In particular, the essays on "Gretzky Nation," "Global Hingis," and Michael Jordan were thought-provoking and did more than just glamourise the world of celebrity athletes. Highly recommended to anyone interested in seeing the cultural relavance of sporting figures in everyday global culture.
