Comment: Weekly, I check in to see when I can have some Casual Rex delivered to my doorstep. I'll gladly come cook dinner, wash dishes, walk the dog...what ever it takes to get Eric to write faster!
Laughed out loud at the premise; loved the entire concept of the dinos in cheap human suits. If you devour detective/crime stories, yet still have a brain that appreciates the absurd, you'll chomp this book up. The end seemed to pop up a little fast; not uncommon in the genre.
If you enjoy Christopher Moore or Bradley Denton, you might want to take a peek at this. Also, mystery fans that enjoy slightly twisted & humorous detectives, like those found in Janet Evanovich's fine series might try this dino sleuth on for size.

Summary: Fun, fun, fun!
Comment: I had six friends who read this book. Five loved it, one hated it, and I'm the sixth that thought it was tremendous. My friend who hated it ain't much in the fun department, so I'm guessing that's where the split comes. Look, if you can't get past the basic concept of dinosaurs shrinking down and fitting into human constumes, understanding that its supposed to be a comedy, then there's no way you'll like it. But if you want some major laughs and a good story then you'll dig this book. Vincent Rubio (the main character) is one swinging dinosaur and I can't wait to read more about him.

Comment: Vincent Rubio is a down on his luck Los Angeles detetctive. Creditors are knocking on his door, he's mourning the death of his beloved partner and fighting an addiction to basil...Vincent Rubio is a velociraptor disguised as a human. I have to admit when I saw this book in my local bookstore I was both intrigued and skeptical. A secret society of dinosaurs living among humans?!? C'mon. But Eric Garcia pulls this unique concept off convincingly with wit, charm and sly humor, at the same time giving us a highly original, geniune detective story that you won't be able to put down!!
