Comment: While the book does cover the fact that Betsy Ross created the first ever Star Spangled Banner, it goes into more depth covering the other facets of Betsy's life which not many people know. For instance, her contributions to the patriot cause aren't just limited to her creation of the flag. She also worked on the tattered clothing of American soldier and created bandages for the wounded. People also don't know that Betsy was a businesswoman after the war which is an area where very few woman had success. The book covers all of that and much more which is why it's such a good read ...
