Summary: Sorry I did not read them before
Comment: Fantasy is not my favorite genre, so I took a long time before reading Harry Potter.It was a big mistake. These stories are great. The plot has friendship, sadness, happiness and more than a little bit of suspence in it. Plus, Hogwarts is like almost any muggle school - teacher's pets, nerds, trouble-makers, and a lot more. I started Year One and less than a week later I was reading the last page of Year Three. Great books. Oh, and Year One book was much better than the movie, which was great anyway.My favorite character is Hermione, because she comes from a muggle family, starts as a nerd, but ends as the best friend of all, and because she is a girl and she is smart.

Summary: Greatest Book In The World!!
Comment: I just started to read the Harry Potter books.They are wonderful going through the tells of Hogwarts.If you like wizards abd witches on flying broomsticks, this book is right for you.But at my school Harry Potter books are banned, because it involves witch craft and stuff.I go to a privite school so thats a big deal to them,It's also banned from the badwords.Like no kid has heard them all before anyway.But anyway, I suggest the Harry Potter Books to anyone.

Summary: In hindsight as good as I first thought that they were
Comment: When I read these books to my youngest daughter they seemed weak and stodgy, not like the pacey reads that I remember them being two years ago.
I think a lot of this has to do with the over hype that has surrounded the whole Harry Potter phenomenon and with this hype a heightened and wholly unrealistic expectation. With this in mind I can see that these are in fact great children's books with characters as full and as rounded as they can be for the format. Hogwarts is alive and I do care what happens to Harry and Ron and Hermione; and I do hope that Draco falls flat on his face. What more can you ask of adventure stories?
There's no need to go on about details, as everyone is aware of these, just to say that these are fun books with fast funny stories that made me read all three books one after the other two summers ago.
The fourth book however is overblown ..., but what can you expect when someone is put under that amount of pressure to deliver a "classic." Rowling buckles under the pressure and writes half for adults and half for children, not an appealing mixture.
