Summary: Knowledge Is Power
Comment: As much as I like the Abby Hayes books, ever since the ninth book, when Jessica left, things have gone downhill. (that was also the time where the paper turned crappy) This book is an example of how it went downhill.
First of all, this book was too short. 97 pages, for a big thing like going to middle school! I was looking forward to buying this book, because I am entering middle school in September. I wanted to get advice on how to survive in middle school. Anne Mazer should have given more details about middle school. The night before Abby Hayes started it, she wrote 2 quotes to give her good luck. Nothing else. She didn't have any nightmares, wasn't sick to her stomach because of the next day, and she seemed to sleep well. If I were to rewrite the book, I would have given A LOT more detail about the night before the first day. I have read a lot of fictional books about this and it seems like the night before your first day of middle school is the hardest part of it.
Second of all, the book Sixth Grade Revealed wasn't very realistic. About popularity. People shouldn't care about what the so-called popluar people think! It isn't like they rule the school. The teachers do. If the popular people tease you (like Victoria did to Abby) you should either ignore them, make a humorus comeback, or tell an adult you trust if it goes too far. You shouldn't change your look and hair color and the other stuff on the list JUST to impress the popular people. Why should you care about what they think? Some of them are just freaks wearing cool clothes. (I'm not saying all popular people are like this. Only some popular people are)
The only thing realistic thing about this book is when Abby falls down on the way to health class, and loses her clip on earring, and then Victoria starts teasing her. That can happen.
(oh, and don't do what she got done at the mall because victoria teased her. It won't help anything!)
I love the Abby Hayes series, but this book isn't exactly helpful in any way. It was too short and unrealistic. I would recommend going to the bookstore and reading this book there without buying it, but don't waste $5.99 buying the book.

P.S. Actually, the part where Abby's friends write tips about the sixth grade is realistic too.

Summary: Pathetic
Comment: I really wanted to give it a one, but I'm giving Anne Mazer the benefit of the doubt.
Abby is going into sixth grade. She is excited when she finds a book called Sixth Grade Revealed. it is filled with bad remarks about 6th grade. So Abby changes her entire look so everyone will like her. BAD MESSAGE ALERT!! She's teaching girls to change themselves just to fit in! And the 'Terrific Times of Julie Hymes?" That. is. Sad. can she be any more obvious? She doesn't even try to be inconpsicous! And Abby Hayes is not Realistic or funny! it is a joke! And i am really, really disgusted.

Summary: The best Abby Hayes book yet!
Comment: Abby's finally graduating from fifth grade! First, she and Hannah pick out the perfect graduation outfits. Once summer's come, Abby enjoys a relaxing summer, taking swimming lessons, and just hanging out. However, her relaxing summer is disrupted when her mom's college friend, Laurie comes to stay for a visit. With Laurie comes her daughter, Wynter. Laurie's rules for bringing up Wynter? Wynter cannot eat fats, sweets, wheats, or meats, and Wynter must have CHOICES. (Which means Wynter can choose whether or not to change her clothes or take a bath or not... Wynter doesn't change her clothes OR take baths very often) Even worse, Laurie wants Abby to babysit Wynter, who turns out to be very difficult. Will Wynter and Laurie ruin Abby's relaxing summer?
