Summary: In the wind
Comment: The book that I am reading is called "No promises in the wind" Its set back in the 1930's during the Great depression. The book focuses on two brothers who decide to run away from their house and live on their own. They run away with only music in one hand and hope in the other. When their money and luck start to run into a traveling circus that gives three meals a day and gives them a nice warm place to stay. They both join up not knowing if they could ever leave but they didn't care cause they were cold and hungry. The reason why I rate this book so high is because it's good book but needed some more detail and better sentences. I would have to say that this book is a must read. So if you are looking for a good book read "No promises in the wind".

Summary: No P romises in the wind review
Comment: No Promises in the Wind by Irene hunt is a book about two brothers struggle to survive during the time of the Great Depression. The two brothers Josh and Joey set out to find independence in a country with scarce resources. Josh and Joey run into many problems such as the death of a friend, starvation, and aggression. These young boys have to beg for food, and are often turned away because people barely have enough to feed their own families. There also are people who want to help them by giving them jobs, feeding them, and giving them rides when their feet are tired. My favorite character in this book is Lonnie, one of the people who help Josh and Joey; I like him because no matter how he is doing he takes time to help the boys. He helps them no matter what the cost, and never asks for anything in return.
I can relate to Josh in some ways. For instance he is very stubborn. I catch myself being the same way. Once I feel a certain way about something or some one it is very hard to change my feelings. Josh is the same way in the book. Another thing is how he holds grudges like the one he has towards his father, and how he would die before going back. This is an accurate description of me.
I like this book a lot. The writer really captures the struggles people were going through during the Great Depression. The author uses good characterization to show how people were feeling and how they changed during these trying times. For instance Josh's father was a nice loving man, but when hard times came he changed. Another example is the lady who scolds and turns Josh and Joey away for asking her for food. One could tell this is not in her nature because she runs after them and insists they come back and eat.
No Promises in the Wind by Irene Hunt is a great read. I would recommend everyone read this book. If you are a person who likes seeing young people over come great hardships, then you will love this book.

Summary: No Promises with 'Promises'
Comment: This is absolutely one of the fakest books i've read. The events happening to Josh and Joey are extremely fictional, and you can tell that they are. The novel is also way too predictible, and it loses its charm before long. Don't waste your money on this trash read.
