Summary: Spiritual Support for Overworked Moms
Comment: I loved this book. Katrina Kenison takes a lot of risks in writing about her journey to achieve a more balanced lifestyle for her family. She asks the questions so many working moms are asking - how much activity is too much? How much down time do our kids need? How do we manage our own stress? How does our overworked, busy lifestyle really affect our kids and our families? While she doesn't provide any answers other than sharing what has worked (and what hasn't) for her, it was so great to hear from a kindred soul. The book consists of essays which can be read in short five minute (or less) stints so even the most time deprived mom can read a bit each day. I spent several months reading and savoring what she had to say. I hated to finish - I so enjoyed having an on-going conversation with Katrina. I expect I'll pick this up again in a few months (or the next time my life starts to get out of balance). I especially appreciated Ms. Kenison's candor about things/times that haven't worked in her family. It helped to know that we all make mistakes sometimes. I've been giving this book to all the new moms I know...
