Comment: This was tooo cute. The chem. is one of the best I have ever read. While reading this book you just can't help but smile. It was great.

Has anyone else noticed how Ms. Quick refers to other character's in her book? I've noticed that she refers to Mrs.York a number of times, as well as some other characters.Well go off now and read one of her books!! :) enjoy

Summary: Her heart's not quite in it
Comment: I love Amanda Quick and I think she is one of the best writers of Regency romances, but this was not one of her stronger novels. It is entertaining, as all of her novels are, but her heart just is not in this one. It feels formulaic, like the characters and plot were fitted to your typical romance template. Almost as if she was just trying to get this one done in order to write something else. I recently reread her novel Deception and Mistress just doesn't compare to that one. I don't think you will be disappointed, Quick is always a good read, but it is not her best work.

Summary: Spiffy
Comment: Frankly, although I love the romance genre, I'm quite harsh when it comes to reviewing it. Mainly due to the fact that it is so hard to find a refreashing and unique experiance from this genre..(one that does NOT include a racy cover, that I would not in fact be embarassed to check out.)
Anyhow, Mistress disinterested me during the first few pages. Nothing new about the same old "cold" male character. What did catch my attention was the sudden irony at the end of the first chapter. ( :D I found it intriguing!)
Although I managed to find the "villan" in the first few chapters (after you read so much of this genre, its not hard to guess *sigh*), I did enjoy reading on to find out the characters figured it out for themselves.
The ending brought a smile to my face and just.. content. As should all books in this genre. I reccomend that you check this from your library. If you love it, certainly buy your own copy to reread over and over. (I'm on my way to read it the second time. This time to soak up more of Quick's wonderful language.)
