Summary: BLAH!!!
Comment: The idea of this book is excellent. But I quit reading it half way through because I got some confusing errors.Like when they were coming back from the indian reservation when Lily got sick. Didn't they come in a wagon? So why did they leave on horseback? Even after Matt asked Kitty to get the wagon. I know it's not a big deal to the story. But I wish it was more accurate. Besides there was dialogue that would include two people and then all of a sudden some other character will be there when they weren't supposed to be in the first place. So the idea of the story was great but there needs to be errors corrected.

Summary: Sandra Chastain at her best!!
Comment:

Shotgun Groom is Sandra Chastain at her best.

Witty dialogue and warm, likeable characters are what Ms. Chastain does best, and this book excels at both. You'll laugh and cry, but mostly, you'll feel really good when you get done reading.

Summary: A special story
Comment: In 1875, an ailing Jim Logan sends a letter to his Aunt Dolly, requesting she find him a bride. However, he signs the letter with his brother Matt's name. Dolly sends her ward, Lily, who has always loved Matt. Lily forces Matt, who has no plans to marry a non-Texan, into an agreement based on the marital contract that he had been tricked into signing.

Lily begins to win over Matt by proving that a southern lady can become a Texas woman. Meanwhile, someone has been mutilating the cattle, trying to make it look like the Indians are getting ready to go on the warpath. Additionally, a group of outsiders has just about bought the free range that surrounds the water, making it extremely difficult to water the cattle. If Matt fails to learn who is doing the former and somehow stop the latter, his extended family will soon be dispossessed.

Multi-award winning authorSandra Chastain has written 32 popular romances and her most recent, SHOTGUN GROOM, demonstrates she deserves every one as she remains one of the great writing talents of the nineties. The story line is fast-paced and the characters (lead and secondary) are charming and add a air of authenticity that turns this book into a fabulous historical romance. Harriet Klausner
