Summary: Not Bad, Not Good....Just Somewhere In The Middle
Comment: I only need one word to summarize this book: MEDIOCRE.
This is the first Danielle Steel book I've read, and I'm hoping that this book is not indicative of her story-telling abilities. I felt a sense of apathy about the novel's storyline and characters from the very first page to the last page. None of the characters are likeable, the dilemmas that they face are of very little consequence, and the dialogue is largely dry and uninteresting. There's absolutely nothing dramatic or compelling within these pages. On the plus side, there's enough material here to keep the reader from wanting to abandon this book without finishing it, though it isn't necessary to complete the book in order to figure out how the story will conclude. The ending was annoyingly predictable.
The story kept me mildly entertained for the six hours that it took me to read, though I felt nothing but numb and dispassion after I was done. This is a novel I will soon forget.

Summary: Another blockbuster!
Comment: I have been reading Danielle Steel's books since her very first in 1979; I have all of them in hardcover. I received this book several days ago and I finished it in just a few days. I don't want to reveal the plot because I want you to read the book, but I found it to be easy reading, enjoyable and just as fun as the way she wrote in the beginning. It is a cannot-put-it-down book about three couples, all whom you would like immediately and wish you had them as friends. She has a wonderful way of getting you to like the people she writes about; always making most of them to be not only beautiful in body but in mind and soul. Ms. Steel must basically be a wonderful and heartwarming person herself. I always look forward to each and every book she writes. I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Summary: I am from Holland, isn't that vierd??
Comment: Sunset at St. Tropez, written by Danielle Steele, is a fun fictional novel, much like much like Steele's normal romantic novels. It is somewhat inspiring to know that you can go on after someone passes away. If you enjoy reading romantic novels, this one is great example of how a romantic life can start all over, even after having lost the love of your life.
It starts off relatively slow by introducing all of the main characters. They are a group of three couples who have been friends for years. They do everything together. They vacation together, they eat meals, and they have a lot of different adventures together. All is well for this group of friends and things are about to get better, or so they think. They have wanted to take a vacation far away for several years, and decide on St. Tropez, France. They plan the trip for one month that coming summer, but when tragedy strikes one of them, will the others be able to go? If they go what will the trip have in store for them? They decide that their friend would have wanted them to go and they all end up going. However, the widowed husband brings along a friend. She is a young, beautiful movie star. The other ladies find this a bit controversial and find that this fling will not work out. At the house that they rented in France, this youthful movie star will have to prove herself worthy to her lover's friends. Can she do it and will their love continue to go on?
The book also shows how true friends go a long way, and though one is lost you must go on. This book is quick and easy to read. It is also very enjoyable to read and not very deep.
What did I think? I thought this was a straightforward, pleasurable book to read. It started off slow, but after the first chapter it started grabbing me. This book is not one to read if you are looking for a thrill, but I think that if romantic laidback novels are your thing, then you will love it. However, one negative aspect of the book was that it is very predictable. I thought after having read the first half that I knew how it would end.
