Comment: Christopher Adey's Orchestral Performance is an outstanding compendium, guide and reference book for all musicians interested in instrumental playing and conducting. This guide is laid out in a clear, concise, and sequential manner which comprehensively addresses every issue relevant to conducting (or playing), including; instrumental technique, performance, rehearsing, orchestral layout, transposition, and the physics of instruments. A highly recommended book which can be read all the way through (some 860 pages) or used for reference purposes. Thank you, Mr. Adey!
